Numerology: A Compass for Understanding Yourself.

While I've been out and about over the past week, there's been a lot of curiosity about what I actually do.

"So... how does numerology actually work?"

I get asked that quite a lot.

And my answer usually begins with this: numerology isn't about putting you in a box because you happen to be a 3, a 7 or an 11.

It's about patterns.

In my work at Anam Cara Numerology, I explore those patterns through your date of birth and name. I practice Pythagorean numerology, a system that assigns numerical values to letters and interprets numbers through their symbolic meanings.

The calculations give us a starting point. The conversation is where we explore what those patterns might mean to you.

Your Life Path is where we begin

One of the first numbers we look at is your Life Path, calculated from your full date of birth. Within numerology, each number carries its own essence - qualities, strengths, challenges and ways of experiencing the world.

Think of your Life Path as one bearing on your personal compass. It offers a direction to explore, while your experiences and choices shape the route you take.

Two people can share the same Life Path and live completely different lives, yet when we start talking, little familiar threads often begin to appear.

Perhaps you recognise a strong need for independence, a love of bringing people together, or a practical streak that means you'd much rather get on with something than spend hours discussing it.

These become things to explore. How does that quality show up for you? Where has it helped you? Has the way you express it changed over time?

There's more to you than one number

Your Life Path is only one part of the picture.

We also look at the numerical values within your name, including the vowels and consonants, to explore themes around motivation expression and how you relate to others.

Then we consider how the numbers sit together within a chart. Certain arrangements from what we call arrows, adding another layer to the patterns we explore.

It's how these different parts come together that beings to tell the fuller story. And that's where it gets interesting.

We're all dimensional. Your Life Path is one pattern within you - its essence can echo through your life in many different ways. Your experiences, relationships, circumstances and choices all contribute to the person you are. As we bring those layers together, numerology becomes a way of reflecting on your own "true north" - what matter to you, what feels meaningful, and how you want to move through life.

What does a consultation look like?

It begins with a conversation about what has brought you here.

You might be curious about yourself. considering a change in direction, exploring a relationship, or wondering why certain themes seem to keep coming up in your life.

We look at your numbers together, with room for questions, reflection and your own perspective. I use numerology as a symbolic tool for self-understanding, and your lived experience is central to that conversation.

Sometimes the most useful part is finding words or something you've felt for years. Sometimes it's a question you hadn't thought to ask yourself.

A compass can help you find your bearings. You still choose where to step, when to pause and which direction feels right for you.

For me, that's the heart of this work: finding the story between the numbers and giving you space to consider what it means in your own life.

So, I'm curious...

Do you know your Life Path number? And if you do, what do you recognise in it? If you are wanting to experience numerology for yourself, message or call me on 021 772 366
